Stadiums based Dynamo Concha Zaspa, Kiev | This settlement is a remote part of Kyiv situated on the right-bank terrace of the Dnipro River. The seven-kilometer-wide fioodplain is covered with numerous former riverbeds, two of which - Koncha and Zaspa - gave the name to a nearby settlement and surrounding terrain. The picturesque fioodplain slowly turns into a wooded terrace; the closeness of Dnipro and clean air made Koncha-Zaspa a favorite recreation zone of Kyivites. After the Great Patriotic war there emerged several sanatoriums (including special ones for the government), recreation centers and pioneer camps. A considerable area was allotted for state dachas. In neighboring Koncha-Ozerna there appeared a dacha settlement of official Ukrainian writers. In Ukraine, football is a sport; therefore no wonder that the training base of Kyiv football club Dynamo appeared in Koncha-Zaspa. It was built in 1961, when the team won the Soviet championship for the first time. There is still a simple double-decker for the footballers. In the independent Ukraine the famous club Dynamo went private At the beginning of the 21st c. a modern six-floor building including accommodations for living (both for Dynamo players and national team) and training: an arena with standard football field, one field with artificial coverage and four excellent grass fields. The FC Dynamo training base is one of the best in Europe and a novelty in Ukrainian architecture. In 2002 its creators won the State Prize in architecture. Nearby there is a Ukrainian Olympic training center. |
